The Monty Hall Paradox – The Big Puzzles

The Monty Hall Paradox – Emma the pastry chef, a well-known fan of mathematical puzzles and logic problems after a long study decided to select the most beautiful logical-mathematical games of each time by proposing separately the relative solutions. These questions require both logical and creative skills to be solved. The perfect mathematical puzzle must propose a simple situation to explain and a solution just as easy to understand but very complicated to find, often at the limit of the impossible for an average mind.

In this page we present The paradox of Monty Hall, a beautiful game where an environment without light and a deck of cards will become a real puzzle for Emma.

THE MONTY HALL PARADOX

One of Emma’s favorite games was a 1990 letter from Craig F. Whitaker, addressed to Marilyn vos Savant’s weekly column Parade:

Suppose you participate in a game show, where you can choose between three doors: behind one of them there is a car, behind the others, goats. You pick one door, let’s say the number 1, and the show show host, who knows what’s behind each door, opens another, say 3, revealing a goat. So he asks, “Would you like to pick number two?”

Should you change your original choice?
