The correct answer is C.
If in fact D saw in front of him 2 white hats, he would be sure that his hat is black or vice versa if he saw two black hats would be sure that his is white. But D doesn’t answer…. so C waits a minute to be sure that D is not “distracted” and then deduces that D can not answer because he has before him two hats of different colors. Therefore if B has the white hat, C has to have a BLACK hat!
